AdSense Shifting to Per-Impression Payments for Publishers

In an effort to align with industry standards, AdSense is preparing to transition from its current pay-per-click model to a per-impression payment structure. This update is designed to create a more consistent payment approach for publishers across Google’s various platforms and third-party networks, facilitating easier comparisons with other technology providers.

It’s worth noting that this change will not impact the type or volume of ads that publishers can showcase on their websites. Publishers within our ad network must adhere to both AdSense policies and the Better Ads Standards, which prohibit practices such as intrusive pop-ups or ads that disrupt the user experience.

These updates are scheduled to take effect early next year and will not necessitate any immediate action from publishers.

Advertising technology plays a vital role in sustaining the diverse and creative content available online. For this reason, we have continuously invested in AdSense, aiming to empower publishers of all scales to generate revenue effortlessly and expand their businesses. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, we remain committed to supporting the open web and facilitating access to content that is made possible through advertising, while also streamlining and enhancing transparency throughout the process.
